As the Covid 19 ( Coronavirus ) pandemic progresses, Government and Healthcare professionals are continuously assessing and making policies and procedures to ensure Islanders are safe and in hopes to stop the spread of the pandemic.
Today, as many as you may already know the Chief Public Health Officer announced that any Islanders who have traveled outside of Canada (whether experiencing symptoms or not) are required to self-isolate for 14 days following their return. This includes teachers, students and health care workers.
I understand that their are members that had plans to travel outside the country and there are even members now travelling as March Break is upon us.
As the President of Local 3324, I have been in contact with the employer to develop a strategic plan to accommodate our members during the self – isolation process.
I would ask, our members to be patient while we work these details out with the employer. More communication will be sent out shortly either by our Local or the employer.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at anytime.
